Last Friday (24/10/14), saw initial results from a major national research project surveying those choosing to enter the teaching profession. The Diversity in Initial Teacher Education (DITE) in Ireland research project is being carried out by Dr Keane with colleagues Dr Manuela Heinz and Dr Conor Foley of the School of Education at NUI Galway. Funded by the Irish Research Council, and working with Niall O'Leary, the project has already shown some surprising trends in applicants and entrants to teacher training courses across Ireland.
